Immunizations

I would like to clarify some of my perceptions, opinions etc. about immunizations. Since the inception of immunizations, we've seen many diseases greatly reduced and some even disappear. The basic premise of immunizations is wonderful. Introduce the body to a small dose of the disease so our bodies can build up an immunity to that disease. What I'm opposed to are all the other things they (supposedly) put into the mix.

Clearly there are many misconceptions out there about immunizations, especially on the internet. I have done some research and asked some Doctors about what actually goes into the immunization mix. I have made a choice not to be immunized in the tradition way until I can prove to myself that what's in the mix is safe.

I do not like the intimidation and the scare tactics used to coerce people into getting themselves and their children immunized. Last I heard it is still a choice and not legally binding that you must get immunized. I do admit that in the past couple of years things have eased off and many health practitioners are advocating being as informed as possible and then make your decision.

At this point all we can do is be as informed as possible and listen to our inner self and follow what we think is the best option.

Choosing wisely at the Grocery store

Now that Spring has definitely sprung I am drawn more than usual to fruits and vegetables. When I go to the Grocery store there's a huge choice, organic or conventional? Sometimes I cannot afford to buy all organic, but I want to be as informed as possible about making conventional fruit and vegetable choices for my family.

Below are two lists of some of the least contaminated conventional choices you can make and some of the most contaminated conventional choices. The best approach is to eat a varied diet, rinse all produce and buy organic and local when possible. Coming up in May in the Greater Victoria area, local farmers markets will be opening, so please buy local when you can. Check local publications like the Goldstream Gazette for locations and exact dates and times of openings.

Least contaminated conventional fruits and vegetables:

onion
avacado
sweet frozen corn
pineapple
mango
frozen sweet peas
asparagus
kiwi
cabbage
eggplant
domestic cantaloupe
watermelon
grapefruit
sweet potato
honeydew melon

Most contaminated conventional fruits and vegetables:

peaches
strawberries
apples
blueberries
nectarines
cherries
imported grapes
celery
sweet bell peppers
spinach
kale
collard greens
potatoes

I hope this helps you make informed choices the next time you go grocery shopping.

Cancer can be cured

Before I begin I would like you to know that this blog is totally about my perspectives, beliefs etc. They are not right, wrong, good or bad they are just mine. My intention is not to offend anyone and I'm not bashing traditional medicine or any other modality used with curing cancer.

O.k. :) I believe cancer can be cured without using toxic chemicals to poison your body. I understand the premise behind chemotherapy, kill the cancer cells and yeah wipe them out if you don't wipe yourself out in the process.

The most important factor to curing cancer is that, first you believe it can be cured. As in the kind of belief that every cell in your body believes and with positive emotion attached to it. Not a kind of fearful, half hearted, well I hope this works?

I suppose you could say that I don't have a right to write such a blog having not gone through cancer myself. You could be correct? Many of my loved ones have died from cancer and I've learned a lot from their journeys. I've also learned a lot from my own healing journey and I am wanting to pass along, perhaps a different perspective and maybe have someone change the way they think about cancer?

I watched a video the other day from China (via YouTube - Gregg Braden, Curing Cancer Using Our Own Technology of Emotion) with a woman who had a large cancerous tumor in her bladder. A team of three, specially trained practitioners helped this woman. There was an ultra sound technician who showed the tumor before the healing took place and then recorded it during the procedure. The three practitioners chanted (to what loosely translates to "already happened" (the healing). Of course there's also a lot of energy/enthusiasm that goes into this chanting. It took two minutes and forty seconds and the tumor was totally gone. Wow! This is just one example, imagine, curing cancer is just that easy? So why isn't it that easy?

Well, for one thing can you imagine if over night everyone truly believed in holistic, fast, healthy and easy ways to cure cancer and they all worked? The billions of dollars that are generated every year for the "Cancer Industry" would be gone, hmmm. I believe that some of the scientific research that is being done and that has been done about cancer are amazing.

What I'm wanting to do with this post is make people aware that there are many other possibilities, even to perhaps just start thinking about it. I believe it's time to stop the "fight against" cancer. Mother Theresa was once asked to join the fight against violence. She said she would gladly attend when they hold a peace rally. Let's not "fight against" anything. Let's just start with new possibilities and if you like, miracles.

Three Pee's in a Podd

My brother in law passed away on Thursday evening (February 10, 2011). While this is a very sad event for my family and me, it also comes with gifts and many blessings.

Gig came to me on Thursday evening after he had passed on. He was sooo happy and zooming around, so much energy! He showed me a symbol and asked me to go and draw it. I got out of bed and grabbed a piece of paper and pen and drew the symbol. Gig smiled and said write this down..."Three Pees in a Podd." I showed my son Alton how Pees was spelled and he said that's definitely Uncle Gig. The three "pees" are three different sizes - small, medium and large. They reminded me of the two horses I work with. Me being the small pee and the other two medium and large. Gig said yes, this is your new business and the symbol is your new logo.

The three pees actually stand for Purity, Peace and Passion. You could also use prosperity, plenty, peaches, pamper, panacea (Universal remedy), parade, paradise, paramount, participate, party, particular, patience, pastoral, perceive, people, perception, perceptive, persist, pertinent, phenomenal, pretty, philanthropy, physical, psychic, pink, purple, pioneer, pivotal, play, playful, paint, pleasantry, please, pleasure, plenty, poise, poetry, ponder, pool, posh, positive, possible, power, pray, praise, precious, preference, premium, prepare, present, priceless, privilege, produce, profitable, profound, progress, potent, prominent, promote, prolific, provide, provident, purpose, pure, purse, puzzle. O.k., o.k. I think you get the point, pick any three P's for the podd.

I am very fortunate to be able to be paired with two sets of "Pees." These four beings are Medicine Horses. The elevator version of a Medicine Horse is a horse who helps people (any being really) heal, that is what they love to do. Part of our mission is to help people and other animals with their healing journeys. We would also like to bring awareness of self. Self being your mental, emotional, physical and spiritual self. Of course we must all be having fun while doing this, it's mandatory :)

I will be offering workshops and sessions at Mary's Farm and Sanctuary and also another private farm. Please stay tuned for dates and times ♡

Awareness

We are energy beings. We have an electrical system in us, energy is constantly flowing into us, through us and out of us. The thoughts we think are a form of energy that go out into the world and really do effect everything around us and our thoughts do help create our world. What do you think about all day long?

What do you attract into your life? Are you creating a world that you love and enjoy? Some times we create by default. Life just happens after all, right? No, you really do create your life, the good, the bad and the ugly! Why not become aware of your energy and your thoughts. Just become aware of what you think about all day. Focus your attention on your thought patterns, begin to notice the life you are creating. You do have choices and you can change your life.

We have seven energy centres or "chakras" in our body. These centres run vertically from the crown (top of the head) to the perineum in our bodies. The 5th, 6th and 7th chakras are said to generate thought, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd chakras are where emotions arise from and the 4th chakra (heart) is where our feelings and beliefs arise from. If you learn about your centres and what areas they govern and how to balance them, you will create a better understanding of your self and de-personalize your life situations.

When we marry thoughts with the emotion of our love or fear regarding them, we create feelings. Feelings are defined as "the union of thought and emotion." They're the basis of our beliefs and are formed in our hearts. (from Gregg Braden's book The Spontaneous Healing of Belief).

You Work on You :)

I think if we all took more time to work on ourselves the world would be a much nicer place. You cannot change anyone but yourself so why not start with yourself? If you have someone in your life who is bothering you with annoying habits etc. try changing your perspective about this person. Try giving him or her a compliment or just thinking positive things about him or her. I'm not saying you should become a door mat and be walked on by people, absolutely not.

I am reminded of a story someone once told me: Mr. Smith goes to his Rabbi demanding a divorce from his wife. The Rabbi invites Mr. Smith into his office and asks him to tell him more. Mr. Smith tells the Rabbi that his wife is horrible, she's always nagging him and putting him down, she never has anything nice to say, always complaining and he's had enough! The Rabbi thinks for a minute or two and says to Mr. Smith "I will grant you your divorce if you follow my instructions for six months." Mr. Smith agrees. The Rabbi says "Mr. Smith I want you to go home and start being nice to your wife. I want you to make a positive comment about what she's wearing or how her hair is, thank her for the meals she makes for you and the clean, folded clothes she launders for you etc." Mr. Smith says he can't possibly do this as he does not feel positive about her! The Rabbi says "Do it anyways and I will visit you in six months to grant you your divorce."

Mr. Smith goes home and reluctantly starts thinking about something positive to say to his wife. During dinner he comments on how nice her blouse looks on her and he thanks her for the very yummy dinner she has prepared for him.

Six months goes by and the Rabbi shows up at Mr. Smith's house and knocks on the door. Mr. Smith is excited to see the Rabbi and invites him in. The Rabbi asks where his wife is? Mr. Smith replies she has gone grocery shopping. Mr. Smith asks the Rabbi why he has come by for a visit? The Rabbi says "Well I'm here to grant you your divorce, it's been six months." Mr. Smith says "Divorce! Why would I want to divorce the most beautiful and wonderful wife ever? The Rabbi says "Good, my work is done. Good bye Mr. Smith!

I'm going to go think of something nice to say to my son when he comes home...

Adversity

According to the dictionary, adversity means - a state, condition, or instance of serious or continued difficulty or adverse fortune. Misfortune, adverse fortune, hardship, distress, suffering.

I suppose I've had my share of "adversity." I believe good things can come out of "adversity" if we allow it, believe in the possibility. Three people that come to mind who have definitely had their share of adversity are: Aimee Mullins, Patrick Henry Hughes and Nick Vujicic. Please google these amazing people and read about their incredible and inspiring journeys.

I believe if we can look at the hardships that we have or are enduring and learn from them then we can rise out of that state and go on to do amazing things ourselves. To survive and thrive it's beneficial to recognize the specialness about yourself. Please do not just "settle" for normal, what is "normal" anyways? Blaze your own path, make up your own rules. Remember to always be respectful and loving toward all other sentient beings.

There's so much fear these days about pretty much everything. There's still the mentality that you "should" go out and get a job and make money and be a drone and be a good sheeple, oops I mean citizen and go about your busy-ness. I'm guilty of being caught up in that game! Speaking of games, how do you want to play your game? It really is up to you. Decide right now how your would really like your life to be and do the best you can to act as if it already is. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I once told my family I was going to live on a farm and have a beautiful house where my horse could be and maybe even have a cow? They looked at me as if I'd lost my mind and asked me how I was going to pay for all that? Then I just felt bad or like I'd said something wrong. I was thrown off my balance. My inner guidance centre said you are o.k., keep dreaming keep thinking what you would like to have or be or do. At the time I didn't listen to myself I let my families fears and insecurities take over and be mine and let my dream slide. I thought "yeah, they're right how am I going to pay for all that?" Well, now I know better, I don't need to listen to anyone else and I'm certainly not doing anyone, including myself any good by doing so.

Back to "adversity." I decided, on an unconscious level, that I wanted to experience some adversity in the form of poverty. I now know what that's like, having lived it. I'm still not out of that state yet, but moving out of it in thought first, them in form.

This state I've been living in has helped me to have a greater appreciation for everything and everyone that's in my life. It's helped me to not be as attached to my stuff and not to identify with the stuff as much. To not judge people as much. Hey I'm human and I sometimes slip into old patterns. I am more aware of my patterns now and can catch them fairly quickly (minutes, instead of hours or days) and change my thinking, which in turn changes my life.

I give a big shout out to adversity! Without it I would not be the person I am today and would not be able to see that I do have something special to offer the world, as we all do, each and every one of us :)
